Artist Note

The Drishti Bomma (famously called Nazar-battu in UP) has always been a familiar presence in Indian homes, quietly watching over entrances and new beginnings. It stood at the doorway of my childhood home too, becoming one of those everyday objects that slowly settle into memory without us ever realising it. Years later, I found myself drawn to its expressive face, vibrant colours, and the quiet comfort it carries. Photographing it was my way of preserving something so ordinary that it often goes unnoticed. This print is an invitation to bring that familiar guardian into your home once again.
