Presented as part of the launch of Vijayashree Studio, A Gallery Called Home was an exhibition and immersive installation exploring memory, nostalgia, and belonging.

At its centre were seven photographs made between 2016 and 2023, gathered from years of travel, observation, and return. Working in a documentary style, I am often drawn to quiet moments, landscapes, objects, and people that leave behind a lasting emotional imprint. Together, these photographs formed an archive of memories and encounters that shaped my understanding of home.

The exhibition extended beyond framed images. In collaboration with the brand, we brought together personal objects from our childhoods, family photographs, heirlooms, and everyday artefacts that carried stories across generations. These elements were thoughtfully woven into the space, transforming the gallery into a living archive of remembrance.

Visitors were invited to move through the exhibition as they might move through a home, discovering fragments of memory, familiarity, and connection. The handmade photobook MEER further deepened this experience, offering an intimate reflection on love, friendship, and shared growth.

More than a photography exhibition, A Gallery Called Home was conceived as an experience. Through photographs, objects, and personal histories, it sought to create a space where viewers could pause, reflect, and reconnect with their own understanding of home, not as a physical place, but as a feeling carried through people, memories, and time.
